Edward Orr Solicitors began life as Wallace & Co in 1897, making us one of the oldest family run law firms in Northern Ireland. The firm incorporated as Edward Orr Solicitors Limited in 2019, and today is led by Managing Director Mark Bethel, but the values it was built on, clear advice, fair fees, and a solicitor who actually knows your name, haven’t changed.
We’ve built our reputation across Banbridge and the surrounding area over more than a century, working with private clients and local businesses on everything from buying a first home to planning an estate. That same approach now extends further afield too, with regular appointments in Belfast and an office on the North Coast in Portrush.
Mark Bethel, Managing Director
Mark is a former pupil of Banbridge High School and Banbridge Academy, and a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast. He completed his professional training with Edward Orr Solicitors, qualifying as a solicitor with the firm before leaving to specialise in property law, supervising a leading property team and working extensively with clients, mortgage lenders, estate agents and financial advisors.
Mark returned to Edward Orr Solicitors in 2017, handling residential and commercial property transactions for private clients and businesses ranging from first time buyers to high value, niche property deals across Northern Ireland. He also advises on wills, estate planning, probate and family law matters.
Mark became a Director and Shareholder in 2019, and Managing Director in November 2021. He’s a member of both the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors Association and the Newry and Banbridge Solicitors Association.

Our main office is in Banbridge, around 25 minutes from Belfast, with free parking nearby. This is where most of our team is based day to day.

Our Portrush office serves clients across the North Coast, giving you direct access to the same expert advice. Appointments are available on request.
At Home Appointments
If you can’t travel to see us, we’ll come to you. Free home visits are available for clients unable to attend our offices.
